Join Beloved Yoga instructor, Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner, and American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH) trained hypnotherapy provider Christina Unger for 7 sessions of a one-on-one journey towards a happier, healthier gut.

Take Control of Your Gut Health with Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy (GDH)

If you’re struggling with symptom of IBS, refractory reflux, or other gastrointestinal disorders where there is miscommunication between the gut and brain, Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy (GDH) offers an evidence-based, highly effective, non-invasive way to experience lasting relief and improved quality of life.

How does hypnotherapy help?

Our gut and brain are in constant dialogue, and the quality of this “conversation” directly impacts digestive and mental health. When communication breaks down, we experience digestive discomfort, fear, anxiety, and disruption in our daily lives.

GDH targets this miscommunication, rebuilding a healthy relationship between the gut and brain. Through a focusing of attention, physical relaxation, activation of the imagination, imagery, and personalized targeted suggestions, GDH gives you the tools to improve pain and motility issues while also improving quality of life and psychological function and resilience.

Far from a Vegas magic trick, GDH is an evidence-based therapy gaining wide acceptance among gastroenterology providers. Patients remain in control of their body and mind and are guided into a relaxed state of focused concentration that allows them to access their subconscious mind.

Substantial, long-lasting relief

“A year after completing Christina’s Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy Program, my symptoms of GERD and IBS are still greatly reduced. I do use her tapes every day. I was able to cut my GI medications by more than half by the time I completed her program, and have maintained that. This has really been a game-changer for me after more than 40 years of trying to get my GI problems under control. Highly recommend!”

What does a GDH program look like?

Participants meet one-on-one with Christina for 7 sessions spaced over 2 months. A preliminary evaluation is also required to review medical and social history and to determine if the person is a good candidate for GDH. Hypnosis sessions last 40 minutes to 1 hour. You will be given a recording to use for daily home practice at the end of the second hypnosis session.  The most important factor in the success of hypnosis is that you are open to it and motivated.  Like any new skill it takes practice!
