The Yoga Sutras is one of the foundational texts of yoga philosophy. Compiled by the sage Patanjali in India nearly 2,000 years ago, it is made of 4 padas or chapters, and a total of 195 sutras. It includes wisdom around ashtanga (the 8-limbed path of yoga), purusha & prakriti, the gunas, causes of human suffering, and how we may harness the power of the body, mind, and soul to find peace.

This pamphlet was created by Maryam Ovissi & Susan Knoblauch to encourage breath awareness, as well as the cultivation of a daily breath practice. It includes a simple practice with options for posturing, as well as a questionnaire to promote awareness around breath patterns and to help identify any dysfunctional patterns that would benefit from further inquiry.
