3-week series on Fridays at 10-11 am
September 18, 25, and October 2
Dive deeper into Yoga for bone health. Osteoporosis causes bones to become brittle and weak as the creation of new bone fails to keep pace with the removal of old bone. Worldwide statistics are saying that 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men over 50 will experience osteoporotic fractures.
Current scientific research supports that Yoga can help strengthen your bones! Here are the reasons:
Yoga is a weight-bearing activity.
Yoga keeps joints moving and supple.
Yoga reduces stress and therefore inflammation that interferes with regeneration.
Yoga supports postural health for ideal alignment and spine compression.
If you have been diagnosed with osteopenia or osteoporosis, these 3 sessions are suitable for you. They will be educational and experiential in that you will learn how to stay safe in your yoga practice with the knowledge of the bone-building process. No yoga experience is necessary.
All you need is:
~ a mat

~ a wall
~ blocks (a 3-inch thick book will do)
