Unfrazzle the Fall!

Parent Rescue: Sunday, October 25, 2-3:30 pm

Cultivate Calm: Sunday, November 22, 2-3:30 pm

$30.00 for one session or $50.00 for both

Join us for two special Zoom programs dedicated to PARENTS!

These 1.5-hour programs offer respite as the new school year rolls along. Parents need recess, too. Take a breather, share what’s on your mind, and move forward with a fresh supply of user-friendly yoga techniques. Enjoy movement, relaxation, and breathing activities that are available for use throughout your day – whether it’s a typical day or not!

The sessions will be led by Gina Kane, MSOT, CYT, and Jean McTigue, CYT. Both are Beloved Yoga teachers and are available for private and semi-private sessions with your teens, pre-teens, and young children.

Participants will receive Finding Calm in a Moment, a pocket-sized book filled with movement, mindfulness and meditation practices for all ages, created by Gina Kane and Calming Kids director, Dee Marie. Classroom teachers, parents and students of all ages have welcomed this little book into their daily routines – now you can, too!

Gina Kane’s love for yoga began in 1995. Yoga for the Special Child training in 1999 ensured that yoga techniques were used daily in her private occupational therapy sessions with children. Yoga teacher trainings completed through Satchidananda Ashram and Calming Kids Yoga, plus certification as a Structural Yoga Therapist supported Gina’s approach to occupational therapy and nurtured her view of how to live a more balanced and peace-filled life. She and Dee Marie of Calming Kids Yoga co-wrote the little book, Finding Calm in a Moment, keeping mindfulness activities within easy reach of teens, middle schoolers, parents, and teachers.

She loves spending time with friends and family, cooking, gardening, and taking walks with her husband, and when the time is right again, exploring museums and traveling.

Gina is thrilled to join the Beloved Yoga team and to play her part in assuring parents, children, and teens that all of us have tremendous resources inside our hearts – and that yoga can be the key to uncover all that peaceful power!

Jean McTigue believes that through the calm of Yoga everyone is brought closer to recognizing their own gifts, potential and light. Jean was 200-hour certified through Inner Power Yoga in 2013, and then in April 2016, received her certification to teach Yoga for the Special Child with Sonia Sumar. She has taught private sessions in people’s homes, at studios like Beloved Yoga in Reston, the Wellness Center in Stone Ridge, and the Body’s Rights in Sterling, as well as teaching at schools and camps around the Herndon, Ashburn and Reston area through Beloved Yoga. She has attended workshops around the country to further her knowledge for teaching kids’ meditation and asana practices.

Jean has lived in Loudoun County for 18 years with her husband and five children. She has also taught art classes to children ages 4 and up for over 10 years through her company, ColorCatchers, while homeschooling her own children for the past 18 years.
