Being There: Yoga to Support Life at the End

Being There: Yoga to Support Life at the End

Sunday, February 23, 2-4 PM, $40

With honor and respect for the sacred transition of the end of life, this interactive workshop will offer yoga practices to support YOU in holding space for someone at or near the end of their life.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  1. Learn some gentle chair yoga to keep your body healthy and comfortable at the bedside.
  2. Practice simple breathing techniques that can calm and support your energy level.
  3. Try out some tools of contemplation to support a clear focus for your mind.

Please wear comfortable clothes you can move in. You may want to bring something to write on, and a memento of a loved one who has passed. Mats, props and chairs are provided.

“Sitting by the bed of the dying is sadhana [spiritual practice].” Ram Dass, Walking Each Other Home

Elizabeth Wasserman has a heart for people at the end of their lives after her experience with being there for her parents and siblings. She is trained as a yoga teacher and an End of Life doula*, helping people connect with what is important to them near the end of life. She seeks to support the loved ones and caregivers as well.

*End of Life doulas offer non-medical support — providing respite for caregivers, information on what to expect during the dying process, & emotional companionship through life review & legacy.
