Beloved Yoga has one of the best Prenatal Yoga programs in Northern Virginia. In our prenatal yoga classes, we connect mom to her breath, body and baby. A time to go in and not just connect with oneself and your child(ren) but to also connect with a community of mothers-to-be.
Our classes are accessible to all levels, from beginners to more seasoned yoga practioners. We offer a gentler yoga for pregnant mothers. You will learn breathing, relaxation and specific yoga poses to help mommies through pregnancy and birth. In addition, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques are taught as an effective way to promote serenity, connection with baby and overall well-being.

Here is a selection of our offerings:
*Visit our schedule to register for classes. We have classes in Reston & Great Falls. Our prenatal classes are ongoing, no sessions!
*Just begin when you are ready. If you are new to yoga, its best to begin the journey of prenatal yoga after 11 weeks.
*We do not require a doctors/midwife consent but encourage you to be communicative with your provider. If you are high risk, please let the teacher know when attending class.
*Please bring a bottle of water to you to class, stay hydrated.
PREGNANCY AND POSTPARTUM MASSAGE
Pregnancy massage is the skillful adaptation of a variety of techniques to provide relief from specific physical symptoms and conditions occurring in pregnancy. The benefits of regular massage during pregnancy include relief from muscle fatigue and stiffness, improved vascular circulation, reduction of swelling in hands and feet and alleviation of neck and back pain. Massage facilitates deep relaxation stimulating the release of hormones that help a mother bond. Postpartum massage is the natural follow up lessening the stress of carrying and caring for a newborn. Nurturing touch also encourages the process of lactation and helps with the physical and emotional adjustments of breastfeeding.
All expectant mothers should check with their health care provider before beginning massage therapy sessions.

PRIVATE PRENATAL YOGA (Individual or Couple)
Maryam Ovissi offers private prenatal yoga sessions to address specific issues and teach partner yoga and massage techniques that can be incorporated into a home practice. Couples learn how yoga can facilitate birth and ease tension and stress in the delivery room. Partners learn to how to support the birthing woman during the birthing process. Private prenatal yoga sessions give the couples the opportunity to connect more deeply with one another and the baby as you prepare for this amazing journey in life. No yoga experience is required.
Pricing for Private Sessions for Couples
For couples beginning the practice of yoga and those seeking a more intimate relationship, we offer 3 and 5 session packages. Private couples yoga is wonderful way for expecting couples to prepare for the journey of birth & parenthood. Teacher will provide alignment, posture and important modifications specific to the student. Sessions are all one hour.

ONE DAY BIRTHING CLASSES FOR EXPECTANT COUPLES
Learn the tools for use during the prenatal journey, birthday and beyond. This workshop will serve as a guide for the birth mama and her partner for creating a calm and naturally aware birth experience. You will walk away with a folder full of evidence-based research/articles and other birth related literature. Whether you are a first time mama or have experienced birth before, preparing for birth workshops meet you where you are.
Non-judgmental of experiences or desires, we hope to provide you with knowledge and hands-on tools to assist you on your birth day! This class is suitable for all levels as well as the complete beginner. It's comparable to a weekend hospital class but also includes a mini yoga class, massage techniques, breathwork, as well as insight from experienced doulas, Mari Stutzman & Tara Lussier.
